Only the French could burn something and have it end up tasting great. Likewise only a French-Canadian could burn something, make a muffin out of it, and sell it to Americans!

This international masterpiece of mishap is every bit as delicious as the traditional dessert.

The idea came to Frank after studying the work of Francois Massialot , his great-great-great-great (ad infinitum)-grandfather, whose 1691 cookbook features the first recipe for Creme Brulee.

So if it doesn’t seem traditional- it is!
