This treat, though long since assimilated in the Americas, is of oriental origin. So while studying the mythology behind the poppy and the almond Frank decided to get back to the source of almond poppyseed muffin production.
Once in the far-East he waded through bushels and baskets of bins of apricots, olives, and dates (just to find one poppyseed and one almond). Once he had found what he was looking for he carefully transported the seeds back to Washington state in a lockout worn around his neck. It is from these two seeds that all of Frank’s muffins are made and each is a myth of its own, waiting to be eaten.
