It’s nearly impossible to fudge this muffin. You might say there’s nothing cheesy about this hand-held cake. You might even enjoy a double pun on it’s name as much as you enjoy its rich flavor.
But seriously, this muffin is drawn from a recipe passed down generations via a complex sequence of successions beginning at Vassar College in 1866. Nearly 147 years later the recipe hasn’t changed, eventually finding its way into the hands of Frank Michaud, a muffin-headed Quebecios who found the recipe in a drawer of a bed and breakfast during a vacation to Maryland.
